How do I register with you? Email your CV and covering letter to enquiries@chris-laver-hr.co.uk. Please identify the type(s) of role, salary indicators and preferred locations you are seeking and whether you would be interested in permanent and/or short-term assignments.
If you are applying for a position you have seen advertised, please ensure that your covering letter describes how you meet the stated requirements. The same applies if, once registered with us, we send you a job outline and you wish to be put forward. You will enhance your application if you provide such information.

Do you cover the whole country? Yes, we are a national company with the majority of vacancies arising in the UK - together with overseas appointments in UK associated companies. But, if your main objective is to work overseas, we may not be able to meet your aspirations.

Do I have to send a CV to you each time I apply? Yes. This is a ' safety net' for you. While we ask you to inform us about changes to your CV as they occur, some candidates forget to do this. Also, your job search requirements may have changed. Your covering letter should include the same information as described in 'How do I register with you?' above and describe how you meet the job requirements.

Do you offer 'temping' jobs? Not in the way operated by some recruitment agencies. We handle 'short term assignments', but your contract is normally direct with the employer.

Do you have part time opportunities? Yes - including some on a job-share basis. When you register please state clearly whether you are seeking part-time work only, what restrictions you may have on days/hours, as well as salary and location indicators.

Should I apply for positions posted on your website or advertised in the press or will you alert me to appropriate vacancies? If you are registered with us, you should be considered for new vacancies as they occur. The number of potential candidates may be high, but your background may contain features (sometimes apparently minor) which are of particular interest to our client. So, it is strongly recommended you should contact us whenever you see a vacancy that interests you. At this point, make sure that the CV in our possession is completely up-to-date, or ideally e-mail us a new one. Don't forget to include a detailed covering letter explaining how you meet the stated requirements.

Will you be able to say which company my CV is being sent to? A feature of our business is that once you have registered with us we guarantee never to send your details anywhere without your permission - even when a client may press us for an immediate response. In many cases we will be able to reveal the employer's identity. The exception is where confidentiality has been stipulated by the client. Even in these cases, however, sufficient will be in the job outline for you to avoid your CV being sent to an employer which you may find inappropriate.

Where do I send my updated CV and cover notes? Please send these to enquiries@chris-laver-hr.co.uk

Do I need to complete an application form? In the first instance send us your CV and a covering letter (see 'How do I register with you' above for the essential information). We will then send you a further questionnaire to enhance the information already provided. It is vitally important to complete this and return it as soon as possible in order to speed up your chances of finding just the right opportunity! However, not having received this questionnaire does not mean that vacancy details will not be sent to you. We store candidate information in a secure range of databases and files, all of which are regularly searched.
